Permanent residency

Permanent Residency

Permanent residency refers to an individual’s residency status in a country of which they are not a citizen. This is normally for an indefinite duration, and a person with such status is considered a permanent resident. This type of residency, however, is different from the right of abode, which removes immigration control for such applicants. Apparently not all countries allow permanent residency, as it depends majorly on the policies and agreements between the home country and destination country of the individual.

Permanent residency Requirements

The requirements of such a permit are quite low, which makes the remaining ones very important to comply with. Some of the requisites include:

  1. Proof of identity
  2. Proof of residence
  3. Proof of financial stability
  4. Proficiency with the local language of the destination country
